Kathern (Kay) Ann Norton, of Campbell Hall, NY, passed away on April 13, 2009 at her home. She was 70 years old.

Born on June 17, 1938 in Imlay City, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Placeway and Ione McKillen Placeway.

She was married to the late Arden Bruce Norton for nearly 50 years.

She graduated from Western Michigan College with a B.S. in Elementary Education, and worked for many years as a health care aid. Kay was an active member of the Salvation Army, and participated in many activities including Ladies Home League.

She is survived by her sons, Andrew Brent Norton and his wife, Linda of Goshen and Craig S. Norton of New Lebanon, NY; granddaughters, Erika Norton and Rebecca Norton of Goshen; her brothers, Carlton Placeway of Worthington, OH and Richard Placeway of Manheim, PA; her half-brother, Scott Placeway of Lapeer, MI; her half-sister, Pam Placeway Meyers of Albuquerque, NM; and her step mother, Margaret Placeway of Lapeer, MI. She was predeceased by her sister, Donna Jean.

Visitation will be today, Thursday, April 16, from 5-8 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 234 Van Ness St., Newburgh, NY.

The funeral will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 17, at the Salvation Army, with a viewing time from 9:30 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.

There will be a reception at the Salvation Army following the burial at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army in Newburgh, or at www.salvationarmyusa.org.
