Massachusetts records show Samuel Smith took the Oath of Fidelity at Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts 25 October 1667. Samuel served as a constable of Eastham in 1670. Administration of the estate of Samuel Smith of Eastham was granted to Mary Smith, widow, and John Smith, son, 20 April 1697. Heirs mentioned in the order of settlement made 22 April 1697 were grandsons Samuel and Joseph Smith, sons of his eldest son Samuel: son John Smith, and daughter, Mary Hamilton, wife of Daniel. The same heirs were mentioned in the estate of Mrs. Mary Smith of Eastham (his wife) on 18 July 1700, the administrator being their son in-law Daniel Hamilton. Sources; c. 2003 |
