The obituary of Ada Howard Vincent read: "Suddenly Called - Mrs. Ada Vincent Of Howell Dropped Dead, Friday, December 24, 1920" - The citizens of Howell were saddened last Friday afternoon on learning of the sudden death of Mrs. Ada Vincent, one of Howell's most estimable women. Mrs. Vincent was crossing the lawn at her home, 213 Crane Street, when she suddenly fell to the ground. Her niece, Mrs. Jacob Eager, happened to be passing by the residence at the time and saw her fall and rushed to her aid and called assistance, but could do nothing as death was instanteneous. Mrs. Vincent was born in the township of Hamburg, this county, September 3rd, 1853. She was the daughter of John and Louise Placeway Howard, well to-do farmers of the township. The family moved to Howell about forty years ago, where her parents resided until they departed this life. Mrs. Vincent was a member of the Presbyterian Church and was a zealous worker in all church work and was well known throughout the state for untiring efforts in building up and maintaining the home department and Sunday School work. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. R. C. Reed, of this city. The funeral was held from the residence Monday afternoon. Dr. L. S. Brooke, of Milford, a former pastor of Howell Presbyterian Church officiating.
