The obituary of Rosina (Placeway) Mercer read; Rosina Placeway was born in Putnam Township Jan 25 1847 and died Dec 17, 1924 aged 77 years, 10 months and 22 days. In 1865 she was married to Alexander Mercer to which union were born two children, one daughter, Mrs. Letta (sic Lottie) Jarvis, preceded her mother in death, and one son, William Mercer, now living in Washington state. She also leaves two granddaughters, Mrs. Mabel Jarvis Lieb of Ypsilanti and Mrs. Vida Jarvis Paddock of Detroit, and one sister, Mrs. Romina Placeway who is now spending the winter in Florida. She was a member of the Local Order of Eastern Star. In middle life she united with the North Hamburg Church, later transferring her membership to the church in this village.
