The obituary of Edwin B. Gidley appeared in a newspaper published in Brighton Township, Livingston County, Michigan. It read as follows: E. B. Gidley, well known in these parts to all old settlers died very suddenly Sunday at Grand Rapids (MI) while attending lectures at the YMCA hall. He was a brother in-law of J. E.
