The obituary of Clayton Placeway was found in the Livingston County Press and read as follows: "Clayton Placeway, 71, died in Los Angeles, California, Sunday, He was the son of William Henry and Arvilla Placeway who lived on Farley Road, Pinckney. He farmed, had a store in Pinckney, and was on the Detroit police force, His wife was Katherine Grieve of Pinckney. She is deceased. There was a son, Forbes, in California. His twin brother, Brayton, died in Wisconsin some years ago. Two sisters, Lola and Mrs. M. Burgess are also deceased. The funeral and burial were in California. " From the death certificate of Clayton Placeway it was learned that he worked as a assembler for General Motors in Los Angeles, California. He had moved to California 30 years prior to his death and had been married to Theresa Kowalski, a native of Michigan. Sources; 01.) The certificate information shows Clayton as serving in WWI, living in California 30 years, and working as an assembler with the General Motors Corporation for 17 years.
